Our Missions Program at HPC is built on God's commands in Acts 1:7 & Matthew 28. Keep reading to learn more about our local, national, and international mission partnerships. You can also read about what our requirements for missions are at HPC & even submit your own recommendations for new partnerships!
One of the things we value at HPC is to ensure our members are involved in & connected to the missions we support. We work hard to make sure you get regular updates about our mission partners and how you can get involved. One example of this is regular Skype Sessions with our international missionaries. You can also click below for some of our most current updates! Finally scroll all the way down to read about our Mission Partnership Criteria & to suggest ideas for new partnerships!
Rahab seeks to minister to those trapped in the sex-trade industry. HPC serves monthly at the Rahab house by cooking & serving lunch and ministering to the women at that facility. We also collect ongoing supplies to toiletries and more.
Cycles for Christ
This ministry was founded by one of our own members, Jon Polhamus. Jon has a passion for cycling, which the Lord is using in tremendous ways. Cycles for Christ collects old bikes & parts, fixes them up and donates them to children and adults in need.
Youth for Christ - Ryan Hugh
Ryan works with both Youth for Christ & City Life to minister to inner-city children of all ages in Cleveland, through direct ministry as well as involvement in the local school systems.
Akron Salvation Army
We partner in numerous ways with the Salvation Army in both hands-on capacities, as well as through clothing & food drives. We are regularly involved in their kettle projects and send adults and students to volunteer at their various local facilities in the Akron area. We also house a Hudson office of theirs in our building.
Haven of Rest
Haven seeks to combat poverty in the greater Akron area. They serve in a larger variety of fields, including shelter, food, clothing, job search and many more. HPC partners with Haven of Rest mainly to help collect supplies & donations according to current need.
Youth Mission Trips
Every year, both our middle & high school students spend a week each serving in various parts of the country (and sometimes internationally). Over the past few years our students have served in Atlanta, New Orleans, Taylorsville, Green Bay, Chattanooga, Buffalo and right here at home.
We currently support a missionary family in southern Lebanon through the EPC. Their focus is on evangelism, discipleship, and church planting among Muslims. Due to the sensitive & risky nature of that area we do not publish their names or details online, but check out our Mission Board at HPC to learn more.
HPC also supports an EPC missionary family in Russia, in the area of the country north of Kazakhstan. Their main work involves evangelism through English courses and youth discipleship. The same rules of sensitivity apply to this family as well so check our Mission Board to learn more.
In San Salvador we partner with Harvesting In Spanish, an orphanage working to house, feed, and show Christ to local children in need. HPC regularly sends adult teams from our congregation to work alongside of the people there and maintains a close relationship with it's founders and staff.
Judy Yund is a missionary serving in the medical field in one of the poorest areas of Bolivia. She runs a Christian Hospital in Laz Paz. Judy has been able to visit us somewhat regularly in person to share what God is doing in Bolivia.
HPC support to efforts of EduNations to build and support schools in Sierra Leone, as well as to establish churches, train pastors, and provide medical care.
