DIRECTOR OF YOUTH MINISTRY
Hudson Presbyterian Church in Hudson, Ohio, is seeking a Director of Youth Ministry to create and develop the Church’s Youth Ministry. Hudson, a beautiful N.E. Ohio suburban community with excellent school systems, multiple nearby universities and easy access to a major city (Cleveland). This is an opportunity to create a dynamic and growth oriented programming for our Church’s youth.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and grow a comprehensive youth ministry program that aligns with the vision and values of Hudson Presbyterian Church (“HPC”).
- Plan and organize regular youth group meetings, outreach activities, and service opportunities for youth.
- Commit meaningful weekly time to offsite contact with students in order to facilitate the development of personal relationships and attract new youth to HPC’s youth ministry.
- Commit to local Community school events and other social venues to further benefit the development and growth of HPC’s youth programming.
- Integrate youth activities and spiritual development into the overall life of the church and local community.
- Develop supportive relationships not only with the Church’s youth but also with their parents and other members of the Church.
- Provide leadership with Church volunteers engaging with the youth and their programs.
- Develop and manage the youth ministry budget in coordination with church leadership.
- Perform other duties as directed by the senior pastor.
- Candidates who sense a call into long-term vocational ministry within the church are encouraged to apply for this position. For those candidates, we would seek to nurture that call, and provide opportunities to prepare for ordained ministry, including occasional preaching, teaching, and serving in areas of giftedness and interest.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, Biblical Studies or Youth Ministry.
- Personal commitment to Reformed Theology and the affirmation of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (“EPC”) Essentials of Faith.
- A passion for Youth Ministry and Outreach.
- Ability to develop relationships one-to-one and in group settings for the purpose of inspiring individuals to grow in their faith and interpersonal relationships.
- Youth Ministry experience up to 4 years, with greater experience desirable.
- Solid interpersonal communication skills with both adults and youth.
- Planning and organizational skills for both self and with others.
- Proficient with digital and current media and the ability to effectively communicate and educate using current technology.
